Abyss

This installation was designed to create the feeling of standing at the edge of the abyss. This could relate to anyone in many different ways depending on what the abyss means to them. As the participant enters the dark room they see a thin white line accompanied by the blue and red, resembling the horizon. As they move closer the line grows bigger emphasizing the immense feeling that is carried with the abyss. Eventually the white becomes extremely intense forcing the participant to step back.

This interactive, immersive installation was created using:

3 × Sharp motion sensors,
1 × wide-angled projector,
a 3×4 fabric screen,
Arduino,
Processing.
